Justificativa para o espetáculo

A Saga de uma certa bárbara é um projeto que foi aprovado em 2004 pelo I Edital de Incentivo às Artes, da SECULT-CE, e recebeu apoio financeiro para montagem do espetáculo, tendo estreado em dezembro de 2004, no Theatro José de Alencar (Sala Nadir Papi Sabóia).

JUSTIFICATIVA PARA O ESPETÁCULO

A saga de uma certa bárbara vem se inserir com delicadeza no contexto machista e opressor das sociedades cearense e nordestina.

Clarissa Pinkola Estés, psicóloga junguiana e contadora de histórias, em seu livro “Mulheres que Correm com os Lobos”, afirma que o resgate e a preservação da natureza selvagem são condições essenciais para que as mulheres tenham uma vida criativa e saudável, longe das insatisfações que adoecem o corpo.

Ao dar vazão a narrativas populares que abordam essa questão, A saga de uma certa bárbara compartilha da opinião de estudiosos das literaturas popular e infantil que afirmam que essas histórias, por lidarem com conteúdos e dilemas essenciais da condição humana através de uma linguagem imagética, são capazes de unir povos e épocas. Dessa forma é que a história da mulher-foca, por exemplo, contada a partir de um ambiente inóspito e gelado, pode fazer sentido a uma dona-de-casa nordestina, abafada em si mesma, esquecida de suas paixões criativas em nome da família e da satisfação do outro.

São histórias que vêm da tradição oral, na qual o “conhecimento da realidade se dá através do
sensível, do emotivo, da intuição... e não através do racional ou da inteligência intelectiva”.
A partir dessas reflexões concluímos que A saga de uma certa bárbara é um espetáculo que fala a qualquer pessoa que esteja em busca de sua identidade profunda, que esteja em processo de transformação, que deseje resgatar sua natureza selvagem, ou que simplesmente goste de ouvir histórias. Apesar de tratar do aspecto selvagem no feminino, fala também aos homens sobre a necessidade de encontrá-lo em suas vidas; fala-lhes sobre o amor e sobre como se portar diante desse feminino.

Ao se apropriar dessa literatura popular e maravilhosa, fonte que também alimentou o teatro
em seus primórdios, A saga de uma certa bárbara quer falar ao ouvido da sensibilidade, da emoção, da intuição. Quer também contar histórias com o corpo e a alma, numa homenagem estilizada aos “contadores de histórias” que ainda resistem espalhados pelo Brasil afora.
